Professional Background:
Andrew was raised in rural Southern Minnesota, just west of Albert Lea. Andrew attended his undergraduate studies at Minnesota State University, Mankato and graduated in 2004 and obtained his juris doctorate from the University of Minnesota in 2007. Andrew initially practiced law in the Twin Cities until 2011, when he and his family relocated to Aitkin, Minnesota, where he practiced law in the Aitkin/Brainerd Lakes area for twelve years. Andrew moved to New York Mills in 2023 and continued his practice primarily in the Aitkin and Brainerd Lakes area, and also worked in the Wadena, Otter Tail, and Becker County Courts.
Andy enjoys representing clients in a wide variety of matters in the Minnesota State and Federal Courts in areas that include civil litigation, family law and custody, housing and leasing, real estate, estate planning, collections and debtor defense, and criminal defense. Andy regularly appears in Courts throughout the entire Eastern half and Northern Minnesota. His primary “home” counties include Aitkin, Crow Wing, Cass, Itasca, Morrison, Otter Tail, Wadena, and Becker, but he has handled matters stretching from Freeborn, Mower, Fillmore, and Houston counties in Southern Minnesota to Cook, Saint Louis, and Lake of the Woods Counties in the Northern portion of the state, and he has handled matters in over forty of Minnesota’s eighty-seven counties.
Community Involvement:
Andy has four daughters who are all athletes, who he enjoys cheering on at their numerous sporting events in the Aitkin community. He enjoys fishing (especially the Southeastern Minnesota trout streams), hunting, four-wheeling, bicycling, and is a historical firearms enthusiast. He also enjoys cooking and travelling with his daughters and is always looking for the next adventure.
